This week's episode it's the third Robin Hood movie of the 2000's, but this time it's a very different take. Michael Sarnoski's take tells a darker tale of the outlaw Robin Hood. He's haunted by his past and hunted by the families of his victims. Isolated and ready for death, he tries to get away from his past life and live his final years at peace. 
For the retro-review we cover Michael Sarnoski's 'Pig'. A career best Nic Cage performance and one that Tom and Liam loved when it first released in 2021. 
Plus, we take a look at some of the past Robin Hood movies that hit the big screen.

On this week's episode we review the newest movie by the legendary film maker, Sir Ridley Scott. He's one of the most covered directors on the show so far, and we are very excited to see what he has in store for us. His newest film is 'The Dog Stars', a post apocalyptic world adapted from the novel of the same name by Peter Heller. 
For the retro-review we go back to 2001 and review 'Black Hawk Down'. What he calls an anti-war movie but a pro-military movie. It's been a good while since any of us have seen this, so it will be fun to go back and see whether it still works in 2026. 
Plus it's the Autumn/Fall draft in the fantasy box office league, and Liam has had a nightmare!

It's a jam packed week this week, so we ditch the retro and give you two brand new film reviews! 
First up, Luis reviews a film we never thought we would see. A few years ago, Warner Bros. tried to write this movie off for tax purposes, however Ketchup Entertainment bought the rights, and it's finally made it to the big screen. 'Coyote vs. Acme' tells the tale of Wile E. Coyote suing the Acme company for its faulty products. It's a killer premise and it's something Luis has been looking forward to for a while. Did Tom make a mistake by putting this as his bomb pick in the box office fantasy league? 
Then Liam reviews one of his most anticipated movies of the year. 'Teenage sex and death at Camp Miasma' is Jane Shoenbrun's first movie since 2024's 'I saw the TV glow', which made it into our top 20 of that year. Does this movie live up to the hype? Well a love letter of the 80's slasher genre sounds right down Liams street.

On today's episode we go back to the prehistoric age (no I don't mean Johnny Depp coming back for the next Pirates movie). I mean we get transported in time, back to when Dinosaurs ruled the earth, as we review 'The End Of Oak Street'. The newest movie from David Robert Mitchell, see's Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor play a married couple, who, along with their children, and indeed their whole street, get transported back in time. They have to try and survive the hungry dinos that inevitably cross their path. 
We retro-review 'It Follows', which was the movie that put David Robert Mitchell on the map and lauded one of the best horror movies of the 2010's. 
Plus we look at some of the best (and worst) dinosaur movies that are not in the Jurassic Park franchise.

This week's episode see's us review the newest movie from Eli Roth. 'Ice Cream Man', is out in cinemas now and has caused quite the stir. From its generative A.I use to discussions of its quality (or lack thereof). Liam gets the pleasure (?) of reviewing this one. 
For the retro, we go all the way back to 2002 as we review his very first movie, 'Cabin Fever'. A movie that's had a sequel and prequel and a re-make... so it must be good, right? Right? 
Plus, we acknowledge that we have been a little critical of Eli Roth in the past, so we do our first ever career retrospective, where we ask the question, we're we wrong about Eli Roth?

After a year long wait, the MCU is finally back on the big screen. Before we get a huge avengers movie in December, we have a certain web swinging, crime stopping superhero to contend with. That's right, Marvel's Ace in the pack is back on the big screen after a near 5 year absence. 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' picks up after the culmination of the last film. No one remembers who Peter Parker is, he's lonely and out doing what Spider-Man does best, being the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. But when a brand new big bad arrives, it's up to an evolving Peter Parker, to try and stop them. 
For the retro, we continue our MCU re-watch as we dive into 'Thor'. How well does this hold up after it's 15 years since release. Do we enjoy the over the top Shakespearean style Asgard, or is it just a bit jarring now that we have seen that character grown into who he has become today. 
Finally, we give the official live action Spider-Man ranking.

It's the quietest week at the cinema we have had in a while, due to everything running scared from the Odyssey. So we decided to take a bit of a breather from new releases and take the opportunity to look at our 2026 backlog and give your our thoughts on three movies that have been released in the first half of the year. 
First up, Liam's pick is, "My Fathers Shadow". A UK, Nigerian co-production which tells the tale of two brothers on a day trip to Lagos with their distant father, a coming of age story where the realities of the political situation in 1993's Nigeria shine through. 
Then Luis reviews a movie he's been trying to get around to for a while now, "The Rip". The Netflix Action Crime Thriller which brings back the duo of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. They play narcotics police who go to stash houses and seize money. However they come across an amount of money, that if they just so happened to take it for themselves, it might change their lives for the better. 
Finally, Tom reviews "If I had legs I'd kick you". While it's been out a fair while in the states now (October 2025), we didn't get it over here until February. A story about Linda a psychotherapist who is also dealing with the stress of being a mother to a sick child. This was all the talk during Oscar season thanks to an incredible performance by Rose Byrne. 
Finally, we look at the big MCU hall H panel at San Diego Comic Con.

It's finally here. On our very first episode, we covered a news story discussing the newest Christopher Nolan film. Back then we had no idea what he was working on, everything was speculation. But as the months rolled on and turned into years, the long awaited return of one of the greatest filmmakers of all time is here. 
It isn't as some suspected, a vampire movie. As we all now know, it is his adaptation of the Ancient Greek poem, by Homer, "The Odyssey". The tale of a quest home, with a jam packed cast. The first movie to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. The hype couldn't be bigger and we get to finally tell you what we thought. 
Plus, nearly 20 years on from its release, we retro review "The Prestige". An early Nolan but still up there as one of his very best. 
Also, Luis takes Tom and Liam through the next round of the Splice Guys Championship, titled, "Top of the Op's!".

This week we are celebrating Episode 100! For the last 100 weeks, three friends who are crazy about movies, have gotten together and talked about the thing we love. It's been an amazing 2 years and we are so happy we get to do this. We have a new theme and logo in what we are dubbing a 'soft reboot' to lead us to the next 100. 
We would like to take the time to thank everyone who has listened to this ridiculous little show. Whether you listened to 1 minute or all 100 episodes, we appreciate you all and hope you can stick around with us for the rest of this journey. 
Today we give to you not one, but two new reviews! Liam reviews the newest instalment in the 'Evil Dead' franchise, with 'Evil Dead Burn'. This franchise means a lot to him and I know just how excited he was to jump into a new one. Plus Luis gets to review another Disney live action adaptation, this time it's 'Moana'. Is it the same debate we have been having for years on this show? Or does this remake actually merit existing? 
I sit down with both of my co-hosts and interview them on their cinema history, their favourite Splice Guys moments and more. As a way that you, the audience, to get to know them better.
